'Dance Moms' season 7 canceled due to Miller's fraud case? Maddie Ziegler talks freedom after exit
Coach Abby Lee Miller is facing jail time after she pleaded guilty last week to fraud charges, and recent rumors suggest that "Dance Moms" season seven may not push through due to her case.
According to Deadline, a text message from Miller was presented in court as evidence. The message reads: "We have all this foreign cash. Need a little money laundering." The outlet says Miller may see herself behind bars for about 24-30 months once the court decides on what to do with her.
Miller's lawyers are currently asking for a maximum of six months' jail time but since she has another case to face, which is supposedly smuggling over $120,000 to the United States from Australia, her days wearing an orange suit may be extended further.
The sentencing will take place in October 11, and until then, Lifetime has to announce if "Dance Moms" season seven will ever happen and if it does, the network will have to think of a way for the show to keep going once Miller steps into prison.
Meanwhile, former "Dance Moms" star Maddie Ziegler has recently opened up about her life after departing from the show with her sister, Mackenzie. In an interview with Seventeen Magazine, the young performer said, "Leaving Dance Moms was a hard decision to make, but it was getting too stressful. Now, I feel like I'm so free."
Though Ziegler did not give details as to what brought pressure to her during her time with coach Miller, she admitted that Miller is "exactly how she is on the show," adding that she felt like there was too much pressure on her to be the best among the other students.
Fans have been wondering what really pushed the Ziegler sisters out of the series, but some previous reports suggested that their mother, Melissa Gisoni, never had a solid and good relationship with Miller.
"Dance Moms" season seven has yet to be announced by Lifetime.
