There is no doubt that the recent reboot of "Doctor Who" is a massive success. The show has gained a massive following of fans ranging from the ones who grew up watching the original version to those who are enjoying the Doctor with fresh eyes.

Because of the success of all eight seasons of the legendary franchise, it really is not surprising why fans have been clamoring for any information about its upcoming season. Thankfully, the actor that plays the Doctor himself revealed what is in store for "Doctor Who" season nine.

"Doctor Who," which first debuted over a half century ago in 1963, is a British science-fiction television program produced by BBC. The show follows the adventures of "the Doctor," a time lord, who travels with a companion on the TARDIS over time and space.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the twelfth doctor, Peter Capaldi, answered a few questions that shed light on the show's ninth season.

Capaldi gushed about what lies ahead for the Doctor in the upcoming season premiere and said, "He's throwing himself into life with a newfound hunger for adventure. He's in pursuit of joy and grabbing every thrill that he can along the way. But I sense him running from something that even he does not yet understand."

He has also confirmed that Jenna Coleman, who plays Clara, the current companion, has no plans of leaving the show. In fact, the relationship of the Doctor and Clara has blossomed even more in season nine of "Doctor Who."

"They've suddenly realized that they are the most fortunate people in all of time and space and are hellbent on adventure. Jenna continues to deliver a beautifully nuanced, complex, and funny performance that marks her out as one of the best companions ever."

No set date has been released for the airing of "Doctor Who" season nine's pilot episode. However the show is slated to be release by autumn of this year.
