'Five Nights at Freddy's' movie news: Film adaptation to push through once script has been finalized
The "Five Nights at Freddy's" movie isn't dead, after all, amid the speculations that plans for the big screen adaptation of Scott Cawthon's popular video game have been scrapped.
This piece of news has been confirmed by no less than Gil Kenan, who will lend his directorial expertise to the upcoming movie. On his Twitter account, Kenan addressed the speculations point blank after one of his followers asked him to confirm if the movie is pushing through.
"No, not cancelled, just in the very long script development phase... Still working on it!" replied Kenan to his follower.
As the confirmation of the movie adaptation of "Five Nights at Freddy's" was received straight from the horse's mouth, fans can now rest assured that they will, indeed, see their favorite game characters getting a big screen adaptation.
If original plans for the movie push through, the "Five Nights at Freddy's" movie will be a joint venture between Roy Lee's Vertigo Entertainment and Seth Grahame-Smith and David Katzenberg's KatzSmith Productions as reported by The Hollywood Reporter last year.
In the same report, it was claimed that the movie will have Freddy Fazbear's Pizza and a darker version of Chuck-E-Cheese as its backdrop. In the game, the goal of the player is to survive a night as he is locked in the said places despite the presence of a furry death machine. It can only be presumed that this will be the case in the movie, too, once it has taken shape.
However, it remains unknown if these details will still be the case once the cameras start rolling for "Five Nights at Freddy's" the movie.
While the movie is yet to take shape, as the script is yet to be finished, it is already rumored that it has already been booked for a June 8, 2018 release date. It remains to be seen, though, if this rumored release date will hold true once more details about the movie become available in the coming months.
