The unprecedented success of 'Frozen' has made a sequel a foregone conclusion. But Walt Disney still deemed it necessary to formally announce that Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck are indeed creating the sequel to the movie that gave life to Elsa, Anna and Olaf.

According to Christian Post, the directors themselves have also expressed confidence in their belief that lightning will strike twice and that 'Frozen 2' will be as good as, or even better than its predecessor. The cast for the sequel has already been secured and fans were happy to learn that everyone is back on board. Lee and Buck are said to be putting the final touches on the plot and the duo reportedly want the upcoming movie to be relevant and to touch on issues "that will have societal impact."

While 'Frozen 2' will obviously be lighthearted and fun to watch, Buck also wants it to deal with social issues that the teenagers and young people, like Anna and Elsa, are facing today.

Speculations abound on the plot the sequel will take and one avenue that millions of fans want to see is whether Anna will develop magical powers like her sister. Interestingly, the directors addressed that particular issue in one interview where they admitted that Anna already has a superpower – love.

Whether Buck and Lee were talking figuratively or metaphorically doesn't matter as the two apparently want to focus on the aspect of "what love can do" in the sisters' lives.

The sisters will also reportedly have a duet in 'Frozen 2,' although it's uncertain if it will be the official theme song. But what's clear is that there is pressure to top the "Let It Go" phenomenon.

'Frozen 2' will still see Idina Menzel play Queen Elsa; Kristen Bell will reprise her role as Anna while Jonathan Groff and Josh Gad are back as Kristoff and Olaf respectively.

'Frozen 2' is slated to hit movie theaters in 2018.
