Google Nexus 7 (2016) vs Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 specs comparison: Different sizes but both support USB Type-C
Tech giants Google and Samsung are prepping for the release of their flagship tablets — the Google Nexus 7 and the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3. Here is a roundup of rumored specs for both devices.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab has cemented itself as one of the best tablets in the market. With the release of the S3, there is high expectation for it especially that the competition is getting fiercer. Google's Nexus 7, on the other hand, has been making waves as well especially now that there are rumors of rebranding it to Pixel 7.
Although both tablets have always been compared, since they are from different makers, there are specs and features that the other one has that the other one doesn't.
According to reports, the Nexus 7 (2016) or Pixel 7 may sport a 7-inch screen of Quad AMOLED display, while the Galaxy Tab S3 comes with an 8-inch and 9.7-inch variants that are both in 4K resolution. As for its processors, Google's tablet is expected to run on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset, matched with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal memory. The Samsung tablet is rumored to be powered by its own Octa-Core Exynos 8890 processing chip, coupled with 4 GB of RAM and 32 or 64 GB of internal storage.
Although camera capabilities do not rely on the number of its megapixels, Nexus 7 (2016) could have a better number than the Galaxy Tab S3 with a 13-megapixel rear lens. Samsung's tablet apparently will be getting an 8-megapixel rear lens and 2-megapixel front lens. According to reports, despite the smaller frame of Google's tablet, it may be getting a bigger power pack with 5,100 mAh battery, while Samsung's will have a 4,000 mAh.
There could be similar features and specs that both handheld devices may get like the USB Type-C port. However, since Google is the maker of the Android operating system, its Nexus 7 (2016) is expected to run on the latest Android 7.0 OS fresh from the box, while Samsung's may operate on the Android 6.0.2.
These specs are all unconfirmed. More details are expected to come out soon.
