'GTA 6' release date between 2018 and 2020 after Xbox Two and PS5 launch?

At the recently concluded Gamescom, fans of the "Grand Theft Auto" franchise were hoping that game developer Rockstar Games will spill something about the upcoming sixth installment of the game. However, as expected, Rockstar Games remained tight-lipped.

According to reports, GTA 6 may come later than expected. Apparently, the game developer is eyeing for the sixth title to come out when the Xbox Two and PlayStation 5 consoles are already made available in the market. This could mean that they may be developing the game for the virtual reality (VR) technology. If these rumors turn out to be true, then fans can expect the game to land on their palms sometime between 2018 and 2020.

Since the Xbox Two and PlayStation 5 are designed to accommodate games that demand more advanced graphics, it could mean that GTA 6 could bring something way better than the previous games in terms of gameplay and overall gaming experience.

The VR technology has taken the gaming world by storm. It would be a smart move for Rockstar Games to put one of its best games in the new platform to widen its reach as well.

Other reports also pointed out that the delay could be because Rockstar Games is prioritizing "Red Dead Redemption 2." Since GTA 5 is still selling pretty well, Rockstar may want to expand the current title more than creating a whole new installment. It may want to focus more on developing its other bestseller "Red Dead Redemption."

Fans of the GTA franchise are also eager to learn where the next location of the game will be. There have been rumors that GTA may finally be set outside of the United States, perhaps in Tokyo. However, the developers apparently canceled the plan because they discovered that the road system of Japan's capital is more complicated than they initially thought. They will most likely stick to the U.S. maps.

More details will soon come out for GTA 6.
