Since the original "Homeworld" game was released in 1999, people have been waiting for a follow up, and this month, it is going to arrive in the form of the "Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak" prequel. As news about the upcoming game has been trickling out, a gameplay trailer for it was revealed which showed that gamers would find themselves at the brink of a war.

PCGamer states that in "Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak," the fuse of war will be lit and this much was clear from the gameplay trailer which is titled "The Transmission." In this trailer, the stage for the upcoming conflict is set and most of the war looks likely to happen on the planet of Kharak.

Also, the trailer revealed that on this particular planet's deserts, which have been the home of the Kiith Galsien house for 400 years, gamers will have to face off against the family as they thwart their every move. As they progress through the game, players will also get to learn more about the ideas that drive the Gaalsien house and how they are not interested in diplomacy. The latest gameplay trailer also provided some hints about the "Primary Anomaly" and how the story would revolve around it.

However, since "Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak" is actually a prequel to the original game, many were quick to point out that it goes a long way in providing answers to many questions that first game left unanswered. As for the action in the upcoming game, it is going to be mostly confined to the deserts on the planet of Kharak. So vehicles are different from the original game and gamers will have to gain control of territory and hang onto it to get an advantage. Gamespot finally states that as more details of the upcoming game have been made public ahead of its Jan. 20 release, it is clear that "Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak" could result in the series being resurrected.
