'How to Train Your Dragon 3' plot rumors, release date news: Hiccup and Toothless to separate and end their friendship?
Ever since "How to Train Your Dragon 3" was confirmed, fans can't help but get excited about what Hiccup and Toothless' next adventures will be.
Several reports suggest that the ending for the next movie will be a sad one. This seems plausible because it was director Dean DeBlois himself who shared some hints about what's to come in the next installment.
Speaking to Collider at the Visual Effects Society Awards last year, DeBlois hinted that the movie will conclude where the book series began. "How to Train Your Dragon" is based on the books by British author Cressida Cowell, who specializes in children's books.
DeBlois continued to share more details about the third movie in the franchise. He said that the movie will feature Hiccup's maturity, since he and his dragon, Toothless, will now be rulers of their respective tribes.
"It's a dueling story where you have both characters trying to do what's right for their kind, and an eventual outcome where Hiccup is able to stand on his own," the filmmaker said.
DeBlois also revealed that Hiccup will be seen remembering the times when dragons still existed, which likely suggests that dragons in the third movie will disappear.
Fans will then have to wait to know what kind of conflict might have taken place that resulted in the disappearance of the dragons and also find out if they will return.
With fans getting a pretty good idea about the fate of Hiccup and Toothless' friendship, a lot of them have expressed their disappointment on why such a good story would feature a broken relationship between the main characters. Then again, movies are always known to deviate from the original plot, so there might be a chance for a happy ending as well.
Fans will just have to stay tuned for more updates and wait until "How to Train Your Dragon 3" arrives in theaters on June 29, 2018.
