Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed are madly in love and continue to be smitten by each other after taking their vows last Sunday. E! News reports that the couple tied the knot at a romantic sunset ceremony at Santa Monica in California. Close friends and family members, including "The Vampire Diaries" co-star Kat Graham were present for the wedding ceremony.

The "Twilight" star shared a romantic picture on Instagram that showed "The Vampire Diaries" star kissing his new bride on the cheeks. His hands were on Reed as she smiled wide for the shutterbug. Reed, now Mrs. Somerhalder, captioned the Instagram picture "Salty...sandy...sticky...sunburned. The best. I love this human. My human."

The romantic pair kicked-off their honeymoon in Tulum, Mexico and are now in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. Daily Mail snapped the pair in Tulum as they engaged in a public display of affection. The 26-year-old actress and 36-year-old actor had a whirlwind romance after their relationship became public nine months ago. Her engagement to Somerhalder was confirmed in January 2015, the same month when she divorced her first husband, singer-songwriter Paul McDonald.

Reed and Somerhalder are obviously taken by each other, with Mrs. Somerhalder telling several media outlets that he is a wonderful person. Kat Graham spoke of the romantic duo to People explaining that, "I haven't met two people that were more of soul mates than those guys. They are so absolutely amazing. Everyone loves them, and I really can't imagine him (Ian) with anyone else." Graham also confessed that Reed is now one of her best friends.

While their wedding was a private affair, Reed donned a stunning white lace gown with an ivory lace design. The couple were joined in Brazil by "The Originals" star Phoebe Tonkin and Paul Wesley on Friday night.

It seems Ian and Nikki are basking in marital bliss and enjoying some much-needed quality time, rest and relaxation with some sun and sand.
