The fourth season of ABC's fairy tale drama 'Once Upon A Time' continues in early-March following a brief mid-season break. The mid-season finale ended the story arcs of the Ice Queen Elsa and her sister Anna. Elsa reclaimed her kingdom from the hands of the villainous Hans while Anna finally tied the knot with the roguish Kristoff.

The series next continues with the episode "Darkness on the Edge of Town" (no relation to the Bruce Springsteen album). In a promotional trailer released by the show's official YouTube account, the so-called "Queens of Darkness" Cruella de Vil, Ursula, and Maleficent make their way to Storybrooke to claim the "happy ending" that has so far eluded them.

The three characters have previously appeared in different incarnations in various mediums. Cruella de Vil is best known as the villain in Disney's film adaptation of '101 Dalmatians'. Actress Glenn Close portrayed the character in the live-action adaptation of the animated film. Ursula the Sea Witch is best remembered as the half-human, half-octopus trickster in the animated film 'The Little Mermaid'. In the film, she makes a deal with the naïve mermaid Ariel to temporarily give her human form in exchange for her voice.

The character Maleficent is the most popular of the three following Angelina Jolie's masterful take in the live-action film 'Maleficent', in which the titular character is given a more sympathetic take compared to the more sinister version of the character. Maleficent was originally a villain in the animated film 'Sleeping Beauty'.

Actresses Victoria Smurfit, Merrin Dungey, and Kristin Bauer van Straten will portray the three characters, respectively.

'Once Upon A Time' returns March for an additional twelve episodes to complete its fourth season. Plot details for the sixteenth episode and beyond have yet to be released. Lead actress Ginnifer Goodwin returns along with the rest of the regular cast.
