Jill Duggar gets married to Derick Dillard in front of 1,000 guests
One of reality television's biggest weddings happened over the weekend as Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard tied the knot in front of 1,000 guests in Arkansas.
Jill Duggar, star of TLC's 19 Kids and Counting, made a lifetime commitment by marrying Derick Dillard on Saturday in Springville, Arkansas.
"I'm so grateful to all the volunteers who helped put everything together for the wedding," said the new blushing bride to People.
"Everyone has worked hard and done an amazing job," added the 23-year-old bride in the same report. One of the highlights of the wedding was a dessert feast that included 3,000 cupcakes and 3,000 chocolate chip cookies. 3,000 root beer floats were also served during the wedding. It was said that the volunteers helped the couple to prepare the sweets for the wedding. For two lovers of sweets, it was surely a treat for their special day.
Other treats that were present in the wedding held at Cross Church were separate tables for sweet and salty snacks. The guests were also able to form a long line that allowed them to individually say their well wishes to the newlyweds.
100 members from both Jill and Derek' immediate family attended the event, with other guests coming from more than 30 states. It seems like the couple have friends from all over the country. Jill's younger brother, Jeremiah, talked about the shenanigans that he wished that was present in the wedding as well.
"I think we should have done more pranks at the wedding," said Jeremiah to People magazine.
"But, they did a good job. Derick is my brother-in-law. He's a good guy. I'm stuck with him now, so good thing," added the 15-year-old sibling.
