The positive reception of LG's V10 smartphones last year has users looking forward to the next update. LG recently confirmed that it will be launching the new iteration of the handphone, called LG V20, this September.

On the official blog of LG, the tech giant from Korea revealed that it will be launching the V10's upcoming upgraded version, the V20, in September. Plus, it will run on an Android 7 Nougat OS fresh from the box, which makes it one of the first phones to do so.

The tech company, however, is yet to reveal more details about the phone and the launch but mentioned that it will "set new standards in the premium phone" market. Plus, it is also expected to offer "expanded multimedia capabilities."

The success of the V10 last year can be attributed to its unique features including a secondary screen and dual front cameras. Aside from its solid camera, it also sported a top-quality body and a good display.

However, the downside of the V10 is its limited release. However, it was a profitable smartphone line, compared to the flagship LG G5, and it was released in selected countries like the United States. Knowing that the V10 was received positively, it is highly likely that the upcoming V20 will be available worldwide.

Last week, The Verge reported that the Korean-based company has hinted on the release of V20 in its recent earnings report. LG revealed that it had $132 million worth of operating loss in the mobile division because of the G5's slow initial sales. The company is looking forward to boost its future sales with the newest V series.

Although the G5 boasted its modular design, the V10 exceeded most people's expectations because it has features that were unexpectedly good and functional. Apparently, LG eyes on releasing two flagship phones this year, including the V20, so there could also be another iteration of the G series.
