Filming for "Longmire" season 5 was already halfway last month and is expected to wrap up soon. No official announcement has been made regarding its premiere yet, but speculations are rife that it will be released in September.

While waiting for details on the upcoming season, viewers continue to debate on whether or not Sheriff Walt Longmire (Robert Taylor) and Victoria Moretti (Katee Sackhoff) should figure in a relationship.

Many fans of the show feel that their chemistry is strong that a love story imminent. Followers of the show are quick to point out the way the characters look at each other. Some even note that a look of jealousy is evident whenever one of them gets close to another character. While some are rooting for the two protagonists to be in a romantic relationship, there are also others who feel that the age gap between them is too wide. They say Walt's closeness to Vic is similar to that of a father to a daughter. 

The show is loosely based on the novel series "Walt Longmire Mystery" by author Craig Johnson. In the books, Walt and Vic eventually get together. If the show is to follow the novel's timeline, season 5 will see the two get married.

The finale of season 4 showed Walt getting intimate with Dr. Donna Sue Monahan played by recurring cast member Ally Walker. The scene suggests Donna will still figure largely in the next season. They were interrupted by an unknown intruder which is now speculated to be her son, who is said to play a vital role in revealing the real persona behind Donna.

The season's main villain, though, will be Shane Muldoon (Dylan Walsh). Shane is reportedly a deceitful character who is the boss of a criminal organization.
