'Mafia 3' release date, rumors: Lincoln Clay's troubled past to be revealed

(Mafia III Website)New trailer reveals protagonist's troubled past.

A new teaser for "Mafia 3" has just been released and everyone is getting all the more stoked as it provides an intense glimpse of the Lincoln Clay's background.

The video has presented the game's hero as an orphan and a street kid who has been dealing with the hubbub of New Bordeaux. Prior to his enlistment in the Vietnam War which set his life to change dramatically, Clay was shown as a misguided youth who was associated with the mob. His post-war life sees the protagonist discovering his family slain, which causes him too much angst. This made him realize that the crime was tied to Sal Marcano of the Italian mob.

These events have catapulted Clay to avenge his family and set his own mobsters, which ultimately set the tone for "Mafia 3." While most of the gamers are familiar with the permeating theme of the game, there will be learning curves in terms of driving, shooting, and the stealth mode usage that may appear to be unfamiliar.

On the other hand, Gamespot revealed that "Mafia 3" will be launched alongside a soundtrack which consists of 100 songs. Touted as one of the games "best features," the soundtrack will showcase an array of genres such as Rhythm & Blues, pop, blues and rock. The Collector's Edition of "Mafia 3" will also be featuring the soundtrack on vinyl. Moreover, dog tags for Lincoln Clay, an artbook with 56 pages, Playboy lithographs, and faux leather drink coasters will be included in the edition.

Received with favorable reviews in terms of its gameplay, "Mafia 3" was launched at the E3 event in Los Angeles last month. "Mafia 3" is set to be released on Oct. 7 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
