'Maze Runner: The Death Cure' release date: The film will soon resume production
The production of the third installment of "Maze Runner" has been delayed for a long time now due to an unfortunate accident where one of the film's actors, Dylan O'Brien, was severely injured. However, there are reports now that say "Maze Runner: The Death Cure" will resume production soon.
Based on reports, 20th Century Fox halted the production of the film when one of its major characters was involved in an accident. It occurred during one of the stunts where O'Brien was supposed to fall from a set that was similar to the back of a train. However, when the actor fell, he was suddenly hit by a car. The injuries were pretty severe that they had to call off the shooting for a while.
The release date of the film was supposed to be in February 2017, but now, it has been moved to January 2018. According to reports, the production was supposed to start back in May 9, but the crew decided to move it to February 2017 instead. This will allow more time for O' Brien to fully recover from his injuries.
This is a good move for the production staff since they would not want to rush the film while the actor is not yet fully recovered. O'Brien is one of those actors who is very committed in terms of his craft and stunt work. This has been proven during the past two installments of the franchise where the stunt sequences were really intense.
The last film that came out from the franchise was "Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials" which came out back in 2015 and was able to earn up to $312.2 million. On the other hand, the first installment, which was released in 2014, was able to procure $340.7 million.
"The Maze Runner: The Death Cure" is slated to be released on January 12, 2018.
