MSI has introduced the WT72 Workstation — the first VR Ready laptop to feature NVIDIA's newest Quadro M5500 graphics card. The flagship laptop comes with the latest and most powerful specs that will allow users to breeze through even the most demanding tasks. The VR Ready laptop also comes with Oculus Rift and HTC Vive compatibility.

MSI has a solid reputation for delivering outstanding machines and the WT72 is no exception," said Bob Pette, vice president of NVIDIA.

The MSI WT72 Workstation will come in three variants — one with the Xeon E3-1505M v5 processor, one with the Intel Core i7-6920HQ processor, and the last one with the Intel Core-6700HQ processor.

All three come with the NVIDIA Quadro M550 GPU with 8 GB of GDDR5 memory. With the WT72 Workstation equipped with the fastest mobile GPU in the market today, performance is boosted by 35 percent, compared to previous models

The first two models feature a 17.3-inch Ultra 4K display with a 3840 x 2160 screen resolution. The third model, on the other hand, comes with a Full HD Anti-Glare display with a 1920 x 1080 screen resolution. The WT72 Workstation also comes with 256 GB of SSD storage and 1 TB of SATA HDD storage. The laptop supports either 32 GB or 64 GB of DDR4 RAM.

Other notable features include Dynaudio speakers with Nahimic Audio enhancer, True Color Technology screens, a SteelSeries backlit keyboard with Silver Lining Print, and USB Type-C connectors with Thunderbolt 3 support.

With industry-leading specs, the MSI WT72 Workstation laptop unsurprisingly features a premium price tag. The Xeon-powered version is priced at $6,899. The version with higher specs, Intel Core i7 laptop, is priced at $6,299, while the base model is priced at $5,499. Availability will be announced at a later date.
