Last year at the MTV Video Music Awards, critics and Internet users blew over the "racy" performance of singer Miley Cyrus, where she danced in her signature "twerk" move and pointed a foam finger at her private parts.

The reaction Cyrus got from "netizens" and critics made her infamous for such acts, and for the MTV VMAs 2014, Cyrus changed the impression the world have of her.

Upon Jimmy Fallon's announcement of 'Wrecking Ball' winning video of the year, those who were at the Inglewood, Calif., Forum theatre were shocked to see a long-haired blonde male teen walk up to the stage instead of Cyrus.

A former homeless teen named Jesse, on Cyrus' cue, spoke about the harsh realities of being a homeless youth during the time allotted for Cyrus' acceptance speech.

"I have survived in shelters all over this city," said Jesse, as reported by Boston Globe, talking about his experiences as one of the 1.6 million homeless teens all across United States.

"I've cleaned your hotel rooms, I've been an extra in your movies. I've been an extra in your life. Though may have been invisible to you on the streets I have a lot of the same dreams that brought many of you here tonight," Jesse continued.

Jesse then asked those who were watching to visit Cyrus' Facebook page to make donations for homeless shelters intended for American youth.

Cyrus posted several photos of her together with Jesse on her Instagram account.
