'NCIS: Los Angeles' season 7: it's the team against a bomber in episode 4; Anthony DiNozzo is in the West Coast for episode 5, 'Blame It on Rio'
"NCIS: Los Angeles" season seven has been one intense episode after another. But it's set to have a very welcome break when self-described Very Special Agent Anthony DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly) flies in for an eagerly anticipated crossover in the episode "Blame It on Rio."
In episode four, titled "Command & Control," the team takes a well-deserved break after a tiring case. But before Sam (LL Cool J) and Callen (Chris O'Donnell) can even begin to enjoy their breakfast, a mysterious caller tells them they have to follow instructions or "I blow something up."
The caller gets their attention by proving that he knows their names and ranks and instructs them to leave any devices that might alert their team to their whereabouts. Based on the clues the mysterious caller gave, Sam and Callen figured out that he has planted a bomb in a bus stop and they were able to get everyone out before it exploded.
In the meantime, Nell (Renee Felice Smith) and Eric (Barrett Foa) have figured out that something is wrong when they discover that the two agents' cell phones and ear wigs were switched off at the same time.
In the end, they figure out that the culprit is Chad Brunson, whose younger brother Tyler was killed in a sting operation headed by Sam and Callen. The "NCIS: LA" team was able to stop Chad but before he died, he implied that the team will soon collapse due to one of its own members, prompting them to wonder if there's still a mole in the department.
After all that excitement, Anthony Dinozzo's arrival will surely be like a breath of fresh, comedic air. And a teaser promo for episode five shows just that. Eric is seen baffled by the newcomer while DiNozzo greets the team with his signature wit, calling them "the West Coast Avengers." Gibbs' presence is felt as well as Hetty gives DiNozzo a message from him.
According to a synopsis for the episode, the "NCIS" agent will be teaming up with Sam, Callen, and the others to search for a prisoner who escaped from custody.
Episode 5 of "NCIS: Los Angeles" season seven is set to be aired on Oct. 19.
