Agent Meredith Brody (Zoe McLellan) will make sure to reveal the identity of the person behind the murder of a female Navy lieutenant in the upcoming episode of the CBS series "NCIS: New Orleans."

In "Help Wanted," TV Guide reports that new leads have come up regarding the Peterson case, where an officer was murdered to stop her from exposing the ongoing corruption in the force. The episode will be a continuation of the previous storyline in which NCIS figured out that someone from Washington has been monitoring the situation in New Orleans. This will lead the squad into thinking that the culprit is occupying a high position in the government.

The lieutenant was investigating a sensitive case, which involved the rampant corruption taking place in the docks, when she was murdered. Arsenic was placed in her coffee and she died while talking to a general who promised to help her solve the case. At first, it was suspected that they were having an affair and that the general killed her to stop her from blabbing about it. It turned out that he was a good friend of her father and they were secretly working together for the past few months.

The NCIS managed to capture her killer but he too died in prison due to arsenic poisoning. Dr. Loretta Wade (CCH Pounder) said it was not suicide. This meant that someone else was pulling the strings and he killed his minion to silence him. Brody got intel that the culprit was hiding somewhere in Washington. The upcoming episode will see the agent following the lead and trying to expose the identity of the puppeteer.

Meanwhile, Special Agent Dwayne Pride (Scott Bakula) and the rest will be busy cleaning up after an explosion turned a popular restaurant into cinders. Preliminary probe reveals that the target was a culinary specialist for the Navy. Her family owns the restaurant and she was set to visit them on that day. The NCIS will have to find out who wants her dead and why.
