'New Girl' season 6 spoilers, news: Nick and Winston to struggle with long-distance relationships
When "New Girl" returns for its sixth season, two of the main characters will be juggling long-distance relationships.
It is widely known that Nick (Jake Johnson) and Reagan (Megan Fox) got together in the previous season. But since Fox is on maternity leave, she won't be making an appearance until midseason. As for how the story will put it, Reagan will be working in Seattle, which means fans won't get to see her at the start of the season.
On the other hand, Winston (Lamorne Morris) is also going to find himself alone when the season premieres as Aly (Nasim Pedrad) is busy with FBI training in Virginia. However, executive producer Brett Baer has revealed that Aly will be visiting Winston in the third episode.
Things between Nick and Reagan are going really well. In fact, their three-month vacation together turned him into a new and improved person. "He's blossomed into a whole new better version of Nick Miller," Baer told TVLine. "He learned to do things like cook and actually enjoy a sunset. He's a super version of himself."
However, while Nick was having fun with Reagan in New Orleans, Jess was having the worst summer ever. She spent the entire time "trying to wrestle with her feelings for him." They had already tried dating before and it didn't turn out as expected. But they have both grown since then and it may be time to try again. It has been said that her relationship with Nick will be a main focus in the new season, so a love triangle is surely inevitable.
Meanwhile, Cece (Hannah Simone) and Schmidt (Max Greenfield) are married now, which means they will be considering the things that come with married life. This includes having a baby and moving into a house together.
Catch the premiere episode of "New Girl" season 6, which was directed by series star Zooey Deschanel, on Sept. 20 at 8:30/7:30c on FOX.
