'No Man's Sky' PC release date delayed to Aug. 12; Launch for 'PlayStation 4' retained
Fans of the hotly anticipated action-adventure survival video game "No Man's Sky" have been exposed to a more challenging truth lately as the PC version release has been pushed to three more days from its initial Aug. 9 launching.
British video game developer "Hello Games" has delayed, stealthily so, the PC version release to Aug. 12. The studio's website has not disclosed any details appertaining to the delay. The announcement was conducted rather privately as the developer only managed to reveal the changes through its website's home page.
Meanwhile, fans have speculated that the recent sneaky changes on the schedule might also affect the version's imminent release for PlayStation 4. Further, the developer's previous announcement revealing that upcoming game has gone gold earlier this month has led to rumors that the reason for the pushback was to establish a strong server stability at the time of its launch. With the increasing anticipation towards the game's launch, the developer might have been looking at a more significant usage than it was initially intended for.
Another speculation has surfaced in terms of the delay. It was rumored that the numerous delays that the game has struggled with can be attributed to the recent allegations which were hurled at the developers for having to use their patented superformula. The superformula is reported to have aided the developer in calculating the procedural generation of the game's massive universe for each player. On the other hand, Hello Games has defended itself staunchly by responding on Twitter.
While all of these are just a bunch of speculations, one might want to just simply wait for the inevitable release, which is all set next month. But for the benefit of the curious, the previous delays and now this sudden pushback for the PC release might be spelling something for the future releases from the company, or this recent change might also be a prelude to a possible delay for the "PlayStation 4" version.
