"Orange is the New Black" season 4 is set to premiere on June 17 on Netflix and fans are dying to know what's in store for their favorite characters. Some of the cast members have already given hints at what's going to happen, and the latest to do that is Kate Mulgrew who said that season 4 is going to get darker.

According to Digital Spy, Mulgrew, who plays Galina "Red" Reznikov in the series, said, "There's a lot of laughs, but you must buckle your seatbelts, because she takes some very interesting turns." She adds, "It gets darker. It's get very dark. I think you will be very surprised, I think you will be wholeheartedly engaged, you will be riveted."

The actress also expressed her admiration for show creator Jenji Kohan and confirmed that she is very excited about the future of the show.

Aside from the darkness and the fun, Mulgrew said that season 4 of "Orange is the New Black" will also look deeper into what's happening in the prison system; thus, fans should expect a lot of surprises as well as controversies in the upcoming installment.

Other spoilers for the show say that the division among the races inside the prison will grow bigger and much more evident.

Meanwhile, it has been confirmed that Laura Prepon (Alex) will be returning to the show. It can be remembered that the last time fans saw Alex, she was at the mercy of the sinister drug kingpin, Kubra.

With her return to the show, fans are wondering whether there will be a love triangle between Alex, Piper (Taylor Schilling), and Stella (Ruby Rose Langenheim). The question is still hanging whether Alex will allow Stella to take her revenge on Piper or if she will stand by her side and fight for her.

There will also be new characters in the show including Jolene Purdy, Jamila Velazquez, and Shannon Esper.
