BBC America has confirmed that "Orphan Black" has been renewed for season four. The show, featuring Tatiana Maslany's buzz worthy performances, will be back with 10 new action-packed episodes set to air in 2016.

Slash Film spoke to BBC America president, Sarah Barnett, who revealed that there will be a few but very big character surprises in store for the upcoming season.

When the show returns, there will be "a little bit of a reset," according to co-creator, John Fawcett. In terms of tone and pace, season four will try to emulate how season one was.

During Comic-Con, fans present in the panel were dying to find out about Delphine's (Evelyne Brochu) fate, after being shot in last season's finale.

"Nobody's safe on the show, but she's 'Orphan Black' dead," said co-creator, Graeme Manson. Fawcett and Manson have been touched that fans care so much about the character. Fawcett then added, "It's a mystery guys. There's a reason why there's a mystery." This seems to indicate that there is more to the story that will be explored in season four.

Season four would also delve more into Kira's (Skyler Wexler) backstory. The show will try to answer questions about Kira's existence. "The most human part about her can't really be explained by science," Manson revealed.

Manson also teased that Sarah may be getting a little bit of romance in season four. With the departure of Paul and Cal, things have been looking bleak for Sarah, so a new love interest would definitely perk things up.

Season four will also be revealing more of the nefarious Neolutionists, who seem to be more dangerous than Dyad and Castor. "That's the journey we're going to go on next season," Mason said. The show will also be introducing biotech elements in the upcoming season, which is bound to set the stage for more interesting storylines.

Season four of "Orphan Black" will premiere in early 2016.
