'Orphan Black' season 4 release date, spoilers, news: New teaser hints at the arrival of a new clone; show to return in April
There's no denying that "Orphan Black" has a cult-like following who are now eagerly waiting for the show's fourth season to be aired. And with the show set to return in April 2016, the buzz around the show is slowly building.
Two new teaser trailers for the sci-fi series were recently released and both can be described as creepy. A 15-second clip that dropped on Christmas Day made for one disturbing holiday gift. The clip starts with a shot of a normal eye. It blinks and when it opens, the brown hued orb is replaced with a mechanical looking retina. Breathing can also be heard before the clip wraps up with the month of the show's return.
Most fans are assuming that the bionic eye might belong to Rachel Duncan, the sinister sestra whose real eye was pierced by a pencil at the end of season 2. However, there are those hoping that it belongs to fan-favourite Delphine.
A longer trailer has also been released but like the previous one, it raises more questions than answers. The clip is just one long scene of a hooded character being chased through the woods. At the end, the runner finally reveals her face, only for viewers to see that she's wearing a mask of a sheep's face, mayhap a homage to Dolly the sheep--the first animal to be successfully cloned.
The unknown character is reportedly a new clone who's set to be introduced in season 4. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, "Orphan Black's" director John Fawcett and writer Graeme Manson revealed the existence of "M.K," who's described to be slippery and paranoid. The clone will allegedly have a lot of answers to Sara's questions.
With the promise of a new clone being added to the mix, fans are excited to see "Orphan Black" season 4 and to watch star Tatiana Maslany bring the various clones to life.
