'Outlander' season 2 spoilers: Roger and Brianna to be introduced in finale
The finale episode of "Outlander" season 2 will see Claire travelling back to the 1960s where she tells her daughter Brianna and historian Roger her story.
Although sequence and scenes in the series may vary from that of in the novel, "Outlander" is known to stay faithful to its source, the novel series. Viewers who have read the book know that the second book in the series, "Dragonfly in Amber," starts with Claire (Caitriona Balfe) talking to her daughter and meeting a historian, and viewers will see the characters for the first time in the upcoming season finale.
Actress Sophie Skelton plays Brianna Randall and actor Richard Rankin plays Roger Wakefield. Viewers will see more of them in season 3 when they help Claire discover what happened to Jamie (Sam Heughan) after the Battle of Culloden. They will eventually be romantically involved, a relationship many readers have come to love.
Fans look forward to watching the events unfold, but many already know that a dramatic end is in store for Claire and Jamie. Jamie will be thought to be dead during the impending war and that is when Claire goes back to her present timeline.
Meanwhile, the series will return for season 3, but there are rumors saying that Balfe might not be able to film for the season. Balfe is currently filming a movie and she is said to concentrate on that project. There are speculations saying she will die in the upcoming finale, while others argue that it will be impossible because the book "Voyager" where season 3 is based on will feature a lot of Claire and Jamie.
"Dragonfly in Amber" will run for 90 minutes on July 9 and details about the next season are expected to be announced soon after.
