The four penguins initially featured in the movie 'Madagascar' are enjoying stardom as of now, especially with the rave reviews on Dreamworks' new 'Penguins of Madagascar' feature film.

Directed by Eric Darnell, the movie was released over the weekend just in time for people lining up for movies during the holiday, and it seems moviegoers were not disappointed.

Several critics applauded the movie's fast wit that went well with the entertaining wit of the four penguins. Eric Darnell was also the one responsible for the previous Madagascar movies.

The movie began with the history of four penguins and how they became a team before being shipped to the New York Zoo, where they were first introduced in the Madagascar movies in 2005.

Tim McGrath voiced the leader, Skipper, while Kowalski was voiced by Chris Miller. Conrad Vernon portrayed Rico, and Christopher Knights voiced Private. They were also the actors who voiced the penguins in the first Madagascar movie.

New animals were introduced in the movie, such as a wolf named "Classified," voiced by 'Sherlock' actor, Benedict Cumberbatch. Classified leads a team of polar bears that included one named "Corporal," voiced by 'The Blacklist' actor, Peter Stormare.

An owl was also introduced, going under the name "Eve," and is voiced by actress Annet Mahendru. A seal named "Short Fuse" is voiced by Ken Jeong, who famously appeared in the comedy franchise, 'The Hangover.'
