After weeks of playing "Pokémon Sun" and "Moon," a meme-worthy Pokémon is making its rounds in various social media sites. On the other hand, long-time planned walking animations re-surface online.

"Pokémon Sun" and "Moon" are the latest role-playing video games under the Pokémon franchise. They were just released last month exclusively for the Nintendo 3DS. Of all the new and exciting game elements that "Pokémon Sun" and "Moon" offer, players seem to prefer a Pokémon nicknamed Nebby.

Meme-worthy Nebby goes viral

In the games, a character named Lillie has a Cosmog companion that is a Psychic-type Pokémon. Lillie nicknamed her Cosmog, Nebby. Across the games' storyline, players find it both funny and endearing how Lillie struggles to keep Nebby's existence hidden. However, no matter how hard the professor's assistant tries, Nebby keeps on escaping from the bag Lillie hides her companion Pokémon in.

Sharing Lillie's struggles with Nebby's secret existence has also been a challenge and a source of amusement for the players of "Pokémon Sun" and "Moon." After a few weeks, word about Nebby spread like wildfire over social media platforms.

Polygon compiled a long list of tweets accompanied with witty memes exclaiming that Nebby must "get in the bag." There is even a Reddit thread dedicated to Nebby that has been a top new subreddit of the week.

Walking, running, and resting animations hidden in the game files, revealed

In other news, fans of the Pokémon video game franchise will recall that there was once a walking animation developed under the "Heart Gold" and "Soul Silver" installments that enabled the Pokémon to keep following the players everywhere.

Some players were frustrated to find that in the Pokémon games that succeeded, the walking animation was lacking. Luckily, it looks like that's not the same case in "Pokémon Sun" and "Moon."

Kotaku spotted a hacker, who goes by the Twitter username @KazoWAR, who said that the walking animation is tucked inside the files of "Pokémon Sun" and "Moon."

Last Monday, @KazoWAR posted via Twitter: "I checked a few Pokemon and they all seem to have it. all the animations work for both versions, even battle and amie/refresh animations."

Since then, "Pokémon Sun" and 'Moon" players followed @KazoWAR's example and delved into the files of the game, subsequently posting their discoveries that affirm there are walking, resting, and running animations for the Pokémon.

Kotaku quoted another Twitter user named @SleepyJirachi who came up with a feasible reason why the walking animations did not go live in the game. The player reportedly said: "I'd imagine they cut it because of lag reasons maybe? Could be coming for the NX version perhaps."
