After attaining success with the Polaroid Snap instant print camera, Polaroid introduced its successor, the Polaroid Snap at the Consumer Electronics Show 2016. The next-generation instant print camera comes with exciting new features but still provides the quintessential Polaroid experience.

"Our brand is known for being fun and for the nostalgic instant photography experience which is our legacy. Now that we've invigorated that experience with digital technologies, its allowing Polaroid to reintroduce the idea of 'click and print' photography to a new generation of consumers," said Scott W. Hardy, President and CEO of Polaroid.

New features on the Polaroid Snap instant print camera include a 3.5-inch touchscreen LCD display for framing shots and navigating the camera's menu. Photo quality is also better due to an improved 13 MP CMOS sensor.

The Polaroid Snap now has the ability to record Full HD 1080p videos. Videos will be stored on a microSD card and support up to 128 GB.

Polaroid has also equipped the Snap with Bluetooth connectivity. Users can now print pictures from other devices like their smartphones and tablets. The Snap application can be downloaded for free. It is compatible with both iOS and Android devices.

Before printing, users can also edit their photos with filters, stickers and effects.

Photos will be printed using ZINK Zero Ink Printing Technology onto 2x3-inch Zink Paper. The camera prints in just under a minute so photos can be shared immediately with friends and family.

The Snap camera can print in three color modes – full color, black and white and vintage sepia. The camera can also queue up to 10 images at a time.

Finally, to adapt to the current trends, the Snap camera comes with a pop-up selfie mirror and self-timer for perfectly framed selfies.

The Polaroid Snap will go on sale during the fourth quarter of 2016. Pricing has not yet been revealed.
