The '90s were ruled by five teenagers in different colored bright suits. Now, characters in the film reboot of the famous kids' television show "Power Rangers" will sport more modern and edgier looks.

Entertainment Weekly exclusively got the first look of the five rangers—Blue Ranger, Red Ranger, Pink Ranger, Black Ranger and Yellow Ranger. The getup boasts a sleeker design and no spandex, but still stays true to its general concept.

"The show was about kids coming of age, about metamorphosis," director Dean Israelite explained. "These suits needed to feel like they were catalyzed by these kids and their energy, their spirit."

The suits are apparently alien-made and will grow on the wearers. But the five heroes aren't the only ones getting a full makeover. PEOPLE grabbed a first look at the film villain's outfit. Rita Repulsa, who will be played by Elizabeth Banks, sports a green suit, fashionably spiked in the shoulder area. Accents of gold can be seen—in her hair, face and nails. The antagonist also shows off green hair neatly tied into a ponytail.

Aside from that, the publication managed to speak to Banks about her upcoming role. Banks said that she is thrilled to be able to play the villain, having never portrayed one before. More specifically, she's quite excited about "world domination – and being unpredictable as a character."

The film will reportedly start off with the five teenagers, not yet friends, in high school. The cast will also be quite diverse in terms of race. Becky G, RJ Cyler, Dacre Montgomery, Ludi Lin and Naomi Scott have been cast as the five titular rangers. The film reboot will center on the characters' lives and backgrounds, giving audiences an origin story of sorts.

"We switched all of the races around, but we made sure that the essence of each of those characters are who they were in the original show, and this really will be an origin story of those characters," Israelite told Entertainment Weekly in a separate interview.

"Power Rangers" will premiere in March 2017.
