'Prison Break' season 5 release date late 2016 or early 2017
It has certainly been a long wait for fans of the hit Fox series "Prison Break" as more than five years have already passed since the end of its fourth season. At the time, fans thought that season 4 was it—and they were right for a moment—until the official announcement of a fifth season was made public.
Of course, the cast members have certainly aged and a time jump will be incorporated into the show's fifth season. But the one thing that fans initially wondered about was if season 5 would work without its protagonist, Michael Scofield. However, it was also revealed that Michael will be returning in the fifth installment of the drama series. Fans surely rejoiced upon hearing the news, but one other thing lingered in their minds: How will the writers resurrect Michael?
Michael, played by Wentworth Miller, died in the previous season's finale. Some reports theorized that Michael's appearance in the upcoming season will only be through a dream or a flashback, but this has since been proved false. Miller's character will return, alive and well, in the present time. The question of "how," though, remains in the dark. One thing is clear: the show wouldn't be the same without the leading man himself.
As for why Michael's survival escaped Sara (Sarah Wayne Callies) and Lincoln's (Dominic Purcell) knowledge, some have speculated on an explanation involving amnesia or losing his memory.
The upcoming fifth installment's plot will apparently revolve around Sara and Lincoln organizing a big escape when they find out that Michael isn't dead after all.
Robert Knepper, who plays Theodore "T-Bag" Bagwell on the show, posted an enticing teaser on his Instagram account about a month ago. The photo showed what looked to be the cover page of a script for an episode titled "T-BAG FOR PRESIDENT!" This sparked rumors that the upcoming season might feature his character in some sort of election.
As for its release date, some reports have said that season 5 could premiere in September 2016, while others argue that it could land sometime in early 2017.
