'Prison Break' season 5 news, release date: T-Bag gets a new hand in season 5
When FOX's serial drama "Prison Break" returns next month for its fifth season, viewers can expect to see the lead stars Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell reprise their roles. Robert Knepper, who plays the killer T-Bag, will also be back, and this time, with a new hand.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Knepper teased how Theodore "T-Bag" Bagwell's new functioning hand will change the character in season 5. He said, "When I realized I would have this new hand ... you'll see. There are a lot of cute little spontaneous moments where I suddenly realize, 'I have my hand back!' I don't want to give it away, but there are some fun moments of me rediscovering the use of my hand."
To recap, T-Bag lost his hand toward the end of the pilot season of "Prison Break. He handcuffed himself to Michael Scofield (Miller) so he could escape with the Fox River Eight. It did not do him any good. John Abruzzi (Peter Stormare) chopped it right off.
"Prison Break" season 5 opens with Scofield's current predicament, which led everyone to believe that the character has been dead. But all this time, Scofield has been rotting in a cell in Yemen, without his family even knowing about it.
As revealed in a promo for the forthcoming season, prison has changed Scofield, Miller shared. The good and the bad are conflicting inside the character. The actor also teased that his character has created a surrogate family in this prison, who he hopes will eventually team up with him to bust out. From the trailer, it seems like the character has carefully selected this family of his. Each and every one of them is crucial to his plan of escape.
"Prison Break" season 5 will return on Tuesday, April 4, on FOX.
