'Rake' season 5 premiere date: Renewal possible; season 4 finale spoilers

"Rake" season 4 is approaching its finale with the last episode airing tomorrow, July 7. However, fans of the Australian series are starting to wonder if the show will be renewed for another season.

There is still no official word on whether or not the series has been greenlit for a fifth season, but according to PremiereDate.tv, there might be a potential for a renewal. "Rake" received an impressive rating of 8.7/10 from IMDB, which suggests positive reception by viewers.

According to the publication, the series has indeed received praises and its success is evident on the number of awards and nominations it has garnered. Despite the obvious positive feedback from the audience, there is still no news about the show's renewal although there is the potential.

While waiting for the announcement, fans will just have to catch the season 4 finale airing tomorrow. In the eighth and final episode, Cleaver (Richard Roxburgh) will have a shift in career, but David (Matt Day) steps in to interfere with his plans. Cleaver also wants to make sure he wins back the affection of his ex-wife Wendy (played by Caroline Brazier), who is now with Jack (Tasma Walton). Jack won't allow Cleaver to get to Wendy because it is said that he will plan for something that should permanently get the barrister out of Wendy's life.

It turns out that Cleaver's plan of winning back Wendy may have worked. It was revealed in a report from Australian Television that the two got to spend some quality time together. They plan to announce their reunion once they get home but it seems that their news won't be the only surprise. The ex-couple's teenage son, Fuzz (Keegan Joyce) also has some surprising news to announce.

What could be the news from Fuzz? Fans will have to find out by tuning in to "Rake's" season 4 finale on Thursday, July 7, 8:30 p.m. on Australian Broadcasting Corporation Television.
