Having the same formula as that of the ever popular Pokemon, the goal is to "catch 'em all." But instead of pocket monsters, players need to collect a bunch of Morty clones — which is about 80 in total, including Scruffy Morty, Fork Morty, Blue Shirt Morty, Aqua Morty, Buff Morty, Double Morty Self-Defense Morty, Tiny Morty, and Psychokinetic Morty.
Moreover, just like the dimension-jumping duos in the series, "Pocket Mortys" players will be taken into different dimensions through a number of portals, battling other characters, and finally finding the Rick in a given area. With enough badges, they will then have to fight a member of the Council of Ricks.
Since the game is fairly new, it is still early to determine how it fares on the market. Though, it has already received a rapturous reaction from fans of the cartoon.
Season 3: When is it coming?
Even before second season was over, Adult Swim had announced that "Rick and Morty" season 3 is going to happen, but there is no official date yet as to its premiere. However, basing on the time it took for the network to get from season 1 to season two — which is over a year — fans speculate that the third season would not hit the screen until March 2017.
At the end of season 2 post-credit, Mr. Poopybutthole said season 3 wouldn't happen for another year and a half.
Co-creator Dan Harmon quipped at the time of the season 3 renewal announcement, "It's an honor to see 'Rick and Morty' join the exclusive club of shows with over nineteen episodes ... It's time to demand that the network allow us to draw the characters going to Hawaii."
