'Scandal' season 5 episode 7 spoilers: Fitz vows to find the ones responsible for Rowan's escape; Jake reveals plans to kill Olivia's father in 'Even the Devil Deserves a Second Chance'
The movers and shakers in "Scandal" certainly know how to weave a tangled web. After panicking over her engagement to Fitz, Oliva makes a deal with the last person anyone would expect, her father. Episode seven might see Olivia's secrets coming back to haunt her now that she has a debt to pay to Mellie and with Rowan Pope roaming free.
Episode 6 of "Scandal's" fifth season will go down in fan's memories as the episode where Olivia might have pounded the final nail in her coffin. The episode saw Olivia (Kerry Washington) and Fitz (Tony Goldwyn) engaged and getting ready to say their "I Do's" in a bid to prevent the impeachment committee from questioning Olivia. Panicked about the way her life with Fitz will start, Olivia turns to her father for help. Rowan said he will get the committee to drop the case if Olivia can guarantee his freedom. The fixer then collaborates with Mellie (Bellamy Young). While the former First Lady didn't agree at first, circumstances pushed her into agreeing with her rival.
But now that both sides have held up their ends of the bargain, Olivia is starting to stress over what she did.
A trailer for the upcoming episode, titled "Even the Devil Deserves a Second Chance," starts with a campy but ominous voice-over stating that "for the man she loves, she did a very, very bad thing." Fitz is oblivious to everything that has happened and when informed by Olivia that Rowan Pope is free, he hugs and promises to find out who was responsible for it. The look that Olivia and Mellie gave each spoke volumes as both are undoubtedly worried that Fitz might discover their parts in it.
But what is worrying is Jake telling Olivia of his plans to hunt down her father and put a bullet in him. While this isn't the first time the ex-spy will attempt to take down the head of B613, it's more personal this time around as Jake's ex-wife Elise (Mia Maestro) was killed because of Rowan.
The newest episode of "Scandal" season five is set to air on ABC on Nov. 5.
