'Scorpion' season 2 news: Elyes Gabel comments on relationship with real Walter O' Brien
Season 2 of CBS' "Scorpion" is three episodes deep and already, audiences have been treated with all the drama and action they could ask for. The fourth episode is due to air in a few days and thankfully, just like its cast, the network has been more than generous in releasing information about the upcoming broadcasts.
Last Sept. 18, Elyes Gabel, the actor who plays Walter O' Brien — based on the Irish personality with the same name who claimed to have hacked NASA at the age of 13 —revealed to CBS News that he has been in contact with the real O'Brien. According to Gabel, O'Brien calls him up from time to time to discuss the show amongst other things.
"He's out saving the world or talking to, you know, princes of Lichtenstein," he said. "So every now and again, I get the chance to talk to him and he'll call me up. And sometimes we talk about the show. Sometimes we talk about characters."
Gabel also revealed how enjoyable his time has been working with his castmates, which include Katherine McPhee as Paige, Robert Patrick as Cabe, and Jadyn Wong as Happy.
"It's a very fun job to do," he said. "Once you relax into it and you realize that — I think best work comes when you're relaxed and you have people to vibe with."
More recently, The Futon Critic got their hands on the official synopsis of "Scorpion" season 2 episode 4 titled "Robots" and based on what they have acquired alone, the next few episodes of the series would be nothing but exciting.
"Walter, Cabe and Happy are trapped with the crew in a top secret submarine when an explosion sends it to the bottom of the ocean with limited oxygen and a self-destruct function that will soon activate." reads the synopsis.
The fourth episode of "Scorpion" is scheduled to air on Oct. 12 on CBS.
