'Sense8' season 2 spoilers, cast news: Lana Wachowski's journey inspires one character's storyline

(Facebook / Sense8)"Sense8" season 2 will continue the individual journey of the eight sensates and the discovery of their connection.

Actress Jamie Clayton talks about her character Nomi Marks on "Sense8," and Bollywood actor Sikander Kher joins the show for its second season.

The second season of "Sense8" will continue to feature the individual journey of each character and will also delve further into the mystery that connects them. The characters of the series are diverse not just because of the nationalities featured but also because many minorities have been represented, such as the LGBT community, which is represented by Nomi.

The actress revealed to Chicago Sun Times that a lot of Nomi's story is based on the experiences of one of the show's creators, as well as director and writer, Lana Wachowski. Nomi is a transgender woman just like Clayton and Lana. Clayton said, "That was interesting for me. It's such a huge responsibility, first of all, to play this amazing character and to represent my community in a way that has never been represented before. But then to also be playing parts of the director, creator and writer — there's a huge responsibility there." Clayton describes the upcoming season as fast, mad, amazing, and with so much action.

Actor Terrence Mann, who played season 1's main villain, Whispers, will continue to hunt the sensates, but the newly cast actor, Kher, is speculated to aid him in his evil plans. In a statement, the actor revealed, "I was approached for the show a few months back. It's a small but an important role, and it takes the story ahead."

Season 2 filming is underway, and if the cities the cast have been spotted filming in are an indication of the production's progress, shooting is already more than halfway done. Filming is set to take place in 16 countries and the cast and crew are currently in San Francisco.

"Sense8" season 2 premiere has yet to be announced, but it is believed to happen in the first quarter of 2017.
