'Silicon Valley' season 3 episode 4 spoilers: Richard threatens Jack Barker

(Facebook/SiliconHBO)"Silicon Valley" airs Sundays on HBO.

The upcoming episode of "Silicon Valley" season 3 will see the team work on something they hate. The official synopsis for episode 4, titled "Maleant Data Systems Solutions," reads:

"Forced to complete an uninspiring project, the guys struggle to perform at a lesser level, ending up with a product that's more successful than they intended. Erlich discovers he's facing Hacker Hostel competition from a familiar face; Monica takes a stand at a board meeting. Convinced of Pied Piper's threat, Gavin makes a decision to double down on Nucleus."

A trailer has also been released for the new episode and it teases Richard (Thomas Middleditch) and the guys threatening Jack Barker (Stephen Tobolowsky). Jack asks the guys, "Give me one reason why I don't fire you right now." Richard then tells the new CEO that with them gone, the company won't function. The initially impressive delivery is, of course, cut with a hilarious ending. Gilfoyle (Martin Starr) and Dinesh (Kumail Nanjiani) are seen unhappily writing code. Erlich (T.J. Miller) is seen confronting his incubator competition and runs into someone familiar, which, by the looks of it, is none other than Big Head (Josh Brener).

Meanwhile, here is a recap of the previous episode, titled "Meinertzhagen's Haversack."

Richard, Gilfoyle and Dinesh were shown the place where Pied Piper's "box" would go. Richard tried to reason out with Jack about the situation, but the latter wouldn't budge. This prompted Gilfoyle to look for a different job and was swarmed by a number of offers. Dinesh purchased a gold chain for himself, which was repeatedly made fun of by everyone—including innocent Jared (Zach Woods).

In a small victory, Richard was able to land a meeting with Laurie (Suzanne Cryer) to talk to her about the box situation. At the meeting, Richard explained his side and Laurie agreed with him. This resulted in a phone call to Jack. However, it was revealed that Jack had still ultimately won, threatening Laurie that it was his way or the highway.

Gilfoyle, while browsing through job offers, stumbled upon the combined team of Endframe and Nucleus, who now have enough of Richard's code to go on.

Meanwhile, Richard and the guys came up with the solution of constructing a platform behind Jack's back. However, everything ultimately backfired when their plans were discovered in an accident.

"Silicon Valley" season 3 episode 4 will air on Sunday, May 15 on HBO.
