(Facebook/SleepyHollow)The Headless Horseman will return in "Sleepy Hollow" season 4.

The Headless Horseman, one of the most popular villains ever in "Sleepy Hollow," will return in the upcoming season of the Fox series.

According to TV Line, fans will finally get their wish of seeing the creepy and iconic antagonist in the new installment. The Headless Horseman is set to appear in one of the episodes titled "Heads Of State."

Last season, the creature was featured very briefly during the premiere and finale episodes. Pandora (Shannyn Sossamon) subjugated the beheaded rider by trapping him in her box. During the end, Ichabod Crane (Tom Mison) summoned him to help defeat the villainess. Pandora met her end after bleeding to death in Headless' hands.

Season 4 of the series is set to introduce new enemies, both supernatural and human. One of the nemeses that Ichabod will be facing is named Malcolm Dreyfuss (Jeremy Davies). As per the spoilers, he would be like the evil reincarnation of the Witness. Dreyfuss is described as "an eccentric and outspoken tech mogul who became a billionaire before the age of 30, and has since been seeking other worlds to conquer." He and Ichabod are expected to butt heads as they both attempt to fulfill their life's mission.

The action for the new installment will shift to Washington, D.C., where Ichabod is set to meet his new team. With Abbie Mills (Nicole Beharie) already gone, the remaining Witness will reportedly leave the town of Sleepy Hollow to become the leader of President Washington's secret organization. There, he will meet Diana (Janina Gavankar), a Special Agent for Homeland Security and a former military officer, who also lost her partner previously. Together, they will form their new group, with two other members named Seth, an "eager analyst," and Rosa, "a female MacGyver."

"Sleepy Hollow" season 4 will air in early 2017 on Fox.
