Sony A6300 specs: Mirrorless camera with 4D Focus system takes pictures in just 0.05 seconds
Sony has introduced the A6300, the newest flagship camera joining Sony's mirrorless camera lineup. The Sony A6300 has been equipped with the world's fastest autofocus and the world's most phase-detection AF points. In terms of performance, the mirrorless camera will be able to perform as good as or even better than most DSLRs in its class.
"The A6300 is yet another example of the dominant innovation that Sony continues to bring to the industry, especially from the mirrorless space. With this new model, we've combined the world's fastest and most extensive AF system with a superb image sensor and many of our most advanced imaging and video technologies," said Neal Manowitz, Vice President of Digital Imaging at Sony.
The Sony A6300 has been equipped with the revolutionary 4D Focus system. The camera can focus on subjects and capture images in just 0.05 seconds. The AF system also comes with 425 focal planes densely packed on to the image area.
The camera can shoot 11 frames per second with continuous shooting or 8 frames per second using the Tru-Finder. Photographers will be able to capture perfectly framed shots of even the fastest moving subjects.
The Sony A6300 features a 24.2 MP APS-C Exmor CMOS sensor and the BIONZ X Image processing engine. When combined, the sensor and the processor deliver images with superior resolution and low noise. ISO sensitivity range is from 100 to 51,200.
Sony's newest flagship mirrorless camera is also able to capture clear and detailed videos. The A6300 has the ability to record 4K videos in Super 35 mm format without any compromises. The camera can also take Full HD videos at 120 frames per second, which allows photographers to capture slow motion videos.
The A6300 camera is housed in a durable magnesium alloy case that is dust-resistant and moisture-resistant. It has a reinforced lens mount structure, new shutter release button and a new mode dial. Photographers will have access to nine customizable buttons that can be assigned up to 64 different functions. There is also Wi-Fi and NFC capability for seamless pairing to iOS and Android smartphones.
The Sony A6300 will be available for purchase at authorized Sony dealers starting March. The camera body will be priced at $1,000 while the camera body paired 16-50 mm F.35 – F.56 kit lens will be priced at $1,500.
