'StarCraft 2: Nova Covert Ops' DLC news: First mission pack arriving March 30; Mission Bundle available to pre-purchase for $14.99

Although the "StarCraft" saga recently concluded with "StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void," Blizzard will continue to make the game fresh and engaging with the release of the expansion pack titled "Nova Covert Ops."

"StarCraft II" Nova Covert Ops" will consist of nine missions to be released in three episodes. The first episode with the first three missions will arrive on March 29. The other missions are expected to be released on or before Dec. 1.

The "StarCraft II: Nova Covert Ops" DLC is now available to pre-purchase from Battle.net for $14.99 total or $7.49 per episode. Players will need the "StarCraft II" Starter Edition, in order to play the upcoming expansion pack. A Battle.net account is also required.

Those who pre-order the DLC will receive exclusive goodies including a Nova portrait and the Covert Ops Ghost skin for "StarCraft II." While the Ghost skin will be available at launch for those who pre-order, the skin can also be unlocked by players who complete all nine "Nova Covert Ops" missions.

"StarCraft II: Nova Covert Ops" takes place a few years after the epilogue of "StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void." Terran Dominion leader Emperor Valerian Mengsk's reign is threatened by political opponents and the disappearance of numerous Dominion ghosts. Players will be Nova Terra will have to investigate the mysterious Defenders of Man group and its conspiracies that may lead to the destruction of Terran Dominion.

As mentioned earlier, the story will play out through nine mission stories delivered in three separate episodes. Players work their way to complete missions, strategize against opponents, and help bring peace and unity back to the Terran Dominion.

"StarCraft II: Nova Covert Ops" is set to feature iconic "StarCraft" gameplay infused with new and fresh game elements. The response and feedback received from this upcoming DLC will be the basis of whether more mission packs will be released in the future.

"Starcraft II" is available to play on the Apple Mac and Microsoft Windows computers.
