After the long wait, "Steven Universe" season 3 has finally returned with an all-new and intense first episode.

Fans were in for a surprise because Malachite returns and is now stronger than ever. Those who may have forgotten, she is a product of the fusion between Lapis Lazuli and Jasper. It can be recalled that she appeared back in season 2 in the episode titled "Chille Tid." However, she was not featured throughout season 2, which gave fans a lot of mysteries to solve. This time around, season 3 episode 1 may have answered some of these mysteries. The episode presents viewers and fans a powerful Malachite who is eager to destroy everything on her path. Luckily, Steven also has a powerful ally in Alexandrite, the fusion of Garnet, Amethyst, and Pearl, and the episode does an excellent job in creating the fight scene of these two powerhouses.

The episode presents Alexandrite as a very agile fighter that can be compared to a thief class if put in the perspective of an RPG, while on the other hand, Malachite's huge body mass can be seen like a tank that prefers close-combat attacks. In the beginning of the fight, they are neck-to-neck with neither one giving up until Steven's intervention along with the Watermelon tribe distracted Malachite, which provided an opening for Alexandrite to land the finishing blow.

She tossed Malachite in the air and hit her with an arrow that forced her to split apart and both Jasper and Lapis Lazuli were caught by Alexandrite. Some fans speculate that the arrow has managed to damage Jasper's gem, which can possibly result in weird things happening to her. If this is the case, then it may present an opportunity for Steven to convince her to join the team. Fans are indeed hoping that this might play out in season 3, which can result in an epic Malachite and Alexandrite fighting side-by-side.
