'Supergirl' season 2 episode 10 spoilers: Livewire to escape from prison, to challenge Supergirl anew

(Facebook/Supergirl on The CW)"Supergirl" season 2 returns for its episode 9 on January 23.

In less than a week, "Supergirl" is resuming with the rest of its season 2 episodes as it returns from its winter break. While it has already been announced earlier that the second half of the series' season 2 will usher back some of the villains that the Girl of Steel has already encountered, one that many is looking forward to is the return of Livewire (Brit Morgan) as she clashes with Kara/Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) anew.

Livewire and Supergirl had their first duel in "Supergirl" season 1, when the series was still under the ward of CBS. While the villain was eventually taken down by Supergirl, she is set to return for the show's season 2 as, reportedly, she will escape from imprisonment.

However, it is said that Supergirl will not be alone in her quest to take down Livewire this time around as Mon-El (Chris Wood) will be there to help her. Reportedly, the Girl of Steel will train the suspected Prince of Daxam so that he can be the best superhero that he can be. However, it is said that the upcoming episode of "Supergirl" featuring the return of Livewire may put Mon-El in a bad light as he will help her first instead of protecting the innocent people he is supposed to shield from danger.

The episode that will feature the return of Livewire is said to be slated for a Jan. 30 release, but the trailer for which has already been released. In the said trailer, Livewire can be heard saying that Supergirl has ruined her life. Before the teaser ends, she is heard saying, "I'm going to murder you," although it's not clear whether she is speaking to Supergirl or another character. The next scene shows Supergirl in the bounds of Livewire's electric whip.

Before fans can get the chance to witness the new clash of the two super forces, though, they will be treated to "Supergirl" season 2 episode 9, airing over The CW on Jan. 23, 8 p.m., and comes with an episode title "Supergirl Lives."
