'Supernatural' season 12 spoilers: Winchester brothers to be powerless against ordinary humans
While the Winchester brothers are known to successfully defeat the supernatural forces they encounter, the upcoming second half of "Supernatural" season 12 will showcase that Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) Winchester can be powerless against ordinary humans.
The midseason finale of "Supernatural" season 12 ended with Sam and Dean being accused of planning to assassinate the President of the United States (POTUS), played by David Chisum, because they thought of him literally as Satan. However, the truth was that the POTUS was, indeed, possessed by Mr. Lucifer (Mark Pellegrino), but the brothers just couldn't tell the arresting officers that they were, indeed, dealing with a supernatural force.
When "Supernatural" returns for the second half of its season 12, the Winchester brothers will still be locked up in their cell. While the trailer for its upcoming episode 9 hints that they will get some help from Castiel (Misha Collins) and Mary (Samantha Smith), the two will have a hard time figuring out how they can help the brothers in their predicament.
According to reports, "Supernatural" executive producer Andrew Dabb has said that the second half of "Supernatural" season 12 will be different from the previous battles of the Winchester brothers, particularly its upcoming episode 9.
"We're going to be building in about a six-week time jump. We'll see how Sam and Dean act in that period of isolation, but also how the world reacts, as well - specifically Cas and Mary and some other players," Dabb said in an interview.
Meanwhile, in another "Supernatural" season 12 news, it has finally been announced that David Haydyn-Jones is officially joining the series to breathe life to Mr. Ketch, the character who has been teased since the series' season 12 premiered in October last year. Although Mr. Ketch, who is an associate of the British Men of Letters, presents himself as an ally of the Winchester brothers, he is also reputed as somebody who can be very dangerous.
Is Mr. Ketch a friend or foe to the Winchester brothers? How can Sam and Dean free themselves from prison? Can Castiel and Mary help the brothers?
Find out when "Supernatural" season 12 returns for its episode 9 titled "First Blood" on Jan. 26 at 8 p.m. on The CW.
