'Switched at Birth' season 5 spoilers: Bay and Daphne have fun in China before going home
Daphne (Katie Leclerc) and Bay (Vanessa Marano) have enjoyed every bit of their stay in China before going back to the United States in the upcoming season of "Switched at Birth."
The next installment of the Freeform series will see the girls packing their bags to return home to Kansas. During the final minutes of the last season, Bay got an urgent call from home. She then went to Daphne and convinced her that they must leave immediately. The upcoming premiere is expected to reveal who called and why, but spoilers already claim it was Kathryn (Lea Thompson) telling the girls about her decision to get a divorce from John (D.W. Moffett).
Their brief time in China had been fun to the girls. As per TV Guide, Daphne worked at a medical clinic while Bay has followed her dreams of becoming a tattoo artist. In the promo photos released, both girls are shown getting a tattoo as souvenir of their stay in the Asian country. They finally got to experience freedom, living in a foreign country so far away from home. They could not have foreseen they would be summoned a mere 10 months after settling down.
Whatever is waiting for the girls in Kansas, the promo shows they will not like it one bit. Both of them claim they should not have gone home. Aside from their parents' rumored split, both Bay and Daphne are expected to face problems with their love lives. Daphne will reunite with her boyfriend, Mingo (Adam Hagenbuch), but an incident at a school party will put a wedge between them. Bay, on the other hand, will be in a love triangle with Travis (Ryan Lane) and Emmett (Sean Berdy). Although she is with Travis now, her ex-boyfriend will reportedly return to win her back.
"Switched at Birth" season 5 will air on Jan. 31, 2017 at 9 p.m. EST on Freeform.
