Terminator 5 cast news: Doctor Who star Matt Smith joins stellar cast
The most recent Terminator 5 news has "Doctor Who" fans delighted as British actor Matt Smith will be joining the cast of the 2015 reboot of "Terminator: Genesis." Deadline reports that Smith will play a major role in the film, which will be "closely connected to John Connor."
Smith is the 11th doctor in "Doctor Who" who also appeared in "The Street" and "Christopher and His Kind". He will also be in "Lost River" with Eva Mendes and Saoirse Ronan under the first directorial project of Ryan Gosling.
On a May 2 tweet, Skydance Productions welcomed Smith to the Terminator cast.
Smith joins other stars on-board the Terminator film - Game of Thrones' star Emilia Clarke (who will play Sara Connor), Jason Clarke (John Connor) from "Zero Dark Thirty", Jai Courtney (Kyle Reese) from "Divergent", Dayo Okeniyi (Danny Dyson) from "The Hunger Games" and Arnold Schwarzenegger. Danny Dyson is the son of Joe Morton's cyborg developer character in "Terminator: Judgment Day."
A post in HitFix said the script of the upcoming 2015 summer film Terminator will show scenes from the original film that rolled out in 1984. Arnold Schwarzenegger will likewise reappear as the T-800 cyborg.
"Terminator" is a blockbuster film, which started in 1984. Its whole franchise earned over a billion dollars to date worldwide. "Terminator: Genesis" is the fifth Terminator film setup by Paramount Pictures and Skydance Productions. It will be directed by Alan Taylor. Laeta Kalogridis and Patrick Lussier write the screenplay. The blockbuster film has started production and is expected in theaters on July 1, 2015.
