'The 100' season 4 spoilers, news: Octavia's dark turn teased

(Facebook/ CWThe100)'The 100' season 4 will depict a new Octavia as the character tries to cover up her pain following Lincoln's death.

Octavia is not yet done with her grief and anger, even after she has killed the person responsible for Lincoln's passing, at least that's according to "The 100" executive producer Jason Rothenberg.

The previous season of the hit series saw Lincoln (Ricky Whittle) getting gunned down by Pike (Michael Peach), and unfortunately, it appeared as if Bellamy (Bob Morley) was somehow involved in the case. Octavia (Marie Avgeropoulos) ended Pike's mean streak in the finale when she stabbed him to death.

However, Rothenberg recently revealed that Octavia is far from done with her vendetta. Speaking with TVLine, the EP teased, "Octavia's story in Season 4 is amazing. She's got quite a journey ahead of her, and it gets darker before it gets lighter. She's taking a detour into assassin land. She'll do whatever she feels she needs to do to hide the pain from the loss of Lincoln."

Also, Octavia and Bellamy's relationship will not be resolved, as opposed to some speculations that the two will reconcile in "The 100" season 4. Rothenberg explained that Octavia will create a new identity when the series returns next year. For her, Bellamy somehow shares the blame for Lincoln's death.

Bellamy, on the other hand, will have a couple of realizations in "The 100" season 4. While he has been living to protect his sister and everyone else in the Sky Crew and the people they love, Rothenberg said he will have to let go. At some point, Bellamy will realize that he has to allow Octavia to find herself now that Lincoln is gone and will never return.

Meanwhile, Den of Geek notes that the upcoming installment will feature new faces, and one of them will be Chai Romruen's Ilan. Not much is known about the character but it has been revealed that Ilan is someone who continues to be haunted by the acts he committed while he was still being controlled by ALIE.

"The 100" season 4 is slated to premiere Feb. 1, 2017 on The CW.
