'The Flash' movie cast rumors: Will Matthew McConaughey play Reverse-Flash?
After it was reported back in April that "The Flash's" movie director backed out, nothing much about the solo big screen feature of the Scarlet Speedster has been heard of. However, the latest in the rumor mill is that the Ezra Miller starrer may usher in Matthew McConaughey for an antagonist role in "The Flash."
According to reports, McConaughey will play the role of Eobard Thawne/Reverse-Flash. The character is described to be a wealthy man who is crippled by his degenerative disease, leaving him confined on his wheelchair. Despite the absence of any confirmation, it is believed that Eobard Thawne's condition will be used to conceal his identity as the Reversed-Flash, Barry Allen/The Flash's (Miller) arch-enemy.
Apparently, though, the rumor of McConaughey getting included in "The Flash" movie stemmed from a fan-made photo of the character with the actor suiting up as the Reverse-Flash. However, despite being aware that the photo is nothing more of being a fan art, there are those who believe that the idea of having McConaughey play the role is nothing short of being great.

While it remains to be seen whether McConaughey will be included in "The Flash" movie for the said role, fans can expect that Miller's take on the DC superhero will provide a great deal of entertainment as teased by a scene in the upcoming "Justice League" film shown to select members of the press last month. Collider opines that Miller provides a comic relief to the movie, and the scene shown to the press left everybody laughing.
Miller first appeared as The Flash for a cameo in the already shown "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice." He is reprising the role for a bigger exposure in the "Justice League" movie slated for a Nov. 17, 2017 release. His standalone film feature "The Flash" is scheduled for a March 16, 2018 release.
In April, "The Flash" movie grabbed headlines after The Hollywood Reporter revealed that the movie's supposed first director Seth Grahame-Smith backed out due to creative differences. According to an exclusive report of Deadline, Rick Famuyiwa now has the task of helming "The Flash" movie.
