'The Good Wife' season 7 spoilers: Alicia forms unlikely partnership with her former rival
NBC recently released its fall lineup, confirming that the "The Good Wife" would see a seventh season, which has made fans even more impatient for the show's premiere this October.
"The Good Wife" is an American political drama series on NBC that focuses on the lives of Alicia and Peter Follick. Peter a former Cook County, Illinois State attorney, is imprisoned due to a notorious political corruption and sex scandal, which forces his wife, who has been a stay-at-home mom for thirteen years, to return to her old job as a litigator in order to support her two children.
The sixth season of the series ended on a bittersweet note. Two fan favorite characters will not be returning for the show's upcoming season - Archie Panjabi and Finn played by Matthew Goode left the series at the end of season 6. While Panjabi's departure strikes a chord, people are more devastated about the character Finn leaving because of his romantic involvement with Alicia Follick, which fans had been expecting to blossom even further as the show progressed.
The show's romantic plot might be coming to a temporary halt, though there are rumors that Alicia may partner with her former adversary, Louis Canning. In the last sequence of season 6, an angry Canning had approached Alicia with an offer of partnership. A recent report by IBtimes.com claims that with Finn dead, Alicia isn't far away from taking up Louis' offer.
None of the plot's speculations have been confirmed, though the series will reportedly open a new and exciting chapter in the lead character's life. Fans won't have to wait very long to find out what lies ahead for Alicia as "The Good Wife" season 7 premieres on October 4 at 9 PM on NBC.
