'The Man in the High Castle' season 2 premiere spoilers: To show more of the events in other parts of the world
Fans of Amazon's dystopian alternative history series "The Man in the High Castle" will finally be able to learn where the story is heading when the series returns for a second season later this year. Here is what is known so far about the series.
After the first season run of "The Man in the High Castle," the series will finally return on the streaming platform, Amazon Vidoe. However, it will be running for 10 episodes without its original showrunner Frank Spotnitz. It was reported that Spotnitz has stepped down as the showrunner and will be the show's executive producer for season 2. He will be producing it along David Zucker, Isa Dick Hackett, and Ridley Scott. Currently, the showrunner spot has not still been filled yet.
Meanwhile, the new executive producer revealed a few details about the storyline next season. "There are glimpses of what's going on with the rest of the planet in the first season," he told Den of Geek. "There are so many issues to explore and it is science fiction so the reason to tell the story is to reflect back on the world we live in right now."
Amazon apparently will be giving a more detailed announcement about "The Man in the High Castle" season 2 on the much-awaited Comic-Con International 2016, which starts tomorrow, July 21, until 24. An Amazon Village will be exhibited in the convention and is said to show some of its latest offerings.
The first installment of the series was based on author Philip K. Dick's novel of the same name. It followed the events of America in the 1960s, during the aftermath of the Second World War. The story focused on the resistance fighters and intelligence agents of that era who came from the Pacific States to the Greater Nazi Reich.
Its successful season 1 run made its pilot as Amazon's most-watched ever since the streaming platform's original series development program began.
