'The Maze Runner 3: The Death Cure' release date: Dylan O'Brien back filming?; movie to premiere Jan. 12, 2018
"The Maze Runner 3: The Death Cure" has suffered quite a delay due to the accident that transpired involving actor Dylan O'Brien. However, it looks like things are looking up as a new report has emerged that states that the actor was recently seen out and about.
According to People, O'Brien was seen at a Jamba Juice in Sherman Oaks, California. He was recognized by a fan, who subsequently asked for a photograph with the "Teen Wolf" actor. O'Brien did not look like his usual self, however, as the actor sported a fairly thick beard.
MY LIFE HAS BEEN MADE, meeting you was the best thing ever
His appearance has led many to speculate that the actor may be ready to resume filming for "The Maze Runner 3." The film was originally scheduled to premiere on Feb. 17, 2017. However, following O'Brien's accident, Fox decided to move the film's release date to Jan. 12, 2018, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The plot of the upcoming film will reportedly stray from its base material. Unlike the first two films in the franchise, the sequel will not apparently tightly follow the storyline laid out in the books. Director Wes Ball has said that he has high hopes for the third film, saying that it is far better than the previous installments in the series.
Rumor has it that the reasoning behind the change in plot is due to many fans being disappointed with the ending of the final book in the trilogy. If this is true, then perhaps changing the plot of "The Maze Runner 3" would prove to be a wise move.
In other news, reports have it that O'Brien may be filing a lawsuit against Fox for the injuries he sustained after the accident. The stunt that the actor pulled was reportedly unrehearsed, but Fox still allowed O'Brien to go through with it. However, this is still a rumor at this point and neither party has yet to confirm the allegations. Therefore, fans should take the news with a grain of salt for now.
